What's our Mail service coming to ?
On May 6th an independent report commissioned by the government said that opening up the postal market to private sector competition has provided no significant benefit for consumers or smaller businesses but represents "substantial threat" to the future of the Royal Mail, Creaming off the
profitable bits to competition whilst leaving Royal Mail with the obligation
to provide a universal service was always going to lead to Post Office
closures & other loss of service no matter how efficient Royal Mail became.
Fylde Lib Dems have been opposing these policies for years. Whilst customers suffer steadily reducing service, big business & 'bulk' mailers have
done very nicely, as have Royal Mail executives, the Chief Executive
receiving more than £3million. Labour are closing Post Offices daily. The Conservatives who now oppose Post Office closures presided over at least 3000 closures when they were in power. You can't trust either the Tories or Labour with our Post Offices.
