Spring Conference - great success

Professor Bill Winlow, Fylde's Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate attended the spring party conference in Harrogate where Liberal Democrat representatives from all over the country:
· Backed plans to bring the funding of the most disadvantaged pupils up to private school levels and halve infants' class sizes
· Adopted policies to give all families 20 hours of free, high quality childcare
· Reaffirmed the party's opposition to university tuition fees, and voted to extend it to part time students
· Pledged to fight the Government's proposals for the Royal Mail unless they are changed to safeguard the post office network and ensure Royal Mail a competitive future.
"We have an open democracy in our party and it's always a pleasure to participate in our debates", said Prof Winlow.
