Plans for the M55 Heyhouses link road are moving forward with the publication of legal orders required to buy the necessary land.
When the Cypress Point Development was originally built the adjoining length of road was not fully completed. At it's northern end, due to land purchase problems, a temporary connection was made to get the traffic back onto North Houses Lane. This temporary link has caused problems for residents but now it is to be replaced at long last.
Compulsory Purchase Orders have been published to secure land required for the scheme and a Side Road Order to alter the existing road and access.
These orders will allow the county council to serve notice on landowners and begin to acquire the land. Work will start in early May to complete the short length of road and then remove the temporary link.
