Deeds more important than words

Don't let Conservative noise about what they will do for savers & pensioners drown out a few facts.
It was they, who, in the 1980's, tore up the banking rule book thus paving the way for the current economic disaster. As recently as August 2007 their leader was busy telling the Financial Services people what a fantastic bunch they were and how wonderful was their contribution to Britain. Promises not to tax interest from savings are worth just a few pence to all but the very rich.
On 20th March a Liberal Democrat sponsored Bill to force energy suppliers to offer their lowest tariff to the poorest people was lost because too few Tories turned up to vote, despite official Conservative support.
