Party Political Cabinet meeting

This week's Fylde Borough Cabinet Meeting seemed more like a party political broadcast than a serious decision-making forum with the Wesham 'boy' playing to the gallery to score political points. Whilst the present Government received some criticism for its inspection regime of local councils, the Libdems scored more highly being mentioned at least 6 times. Various local websites also came in for criticism so even free speech is now banned ! What a shame that some of the Cabinet can't focus on doing their jobs properly instead of trying to make political capital at important decision-making meetings. Maybe its no coincidence that the councillor who seemed hell bent on trying to score cheap points was attending his last meeting. Let's hope his replacement will be more focused on getting to grips with the serious matters that currently challenge the council rather than grandstanding.
