Good News! New swings are in place at Newton Hall Park thanks to Newton with Clifton Parish Council which has worked with the police and parks equipment maintenance team to replace the damaged equipment. The fence and swings were damaged by a car reversing into them last November and although the car that did the damage was found, the driver's identity could not be verified. The fence was mended quickly through the Parish Council's maintenance scheme.
Parish Council Leader Pam Winlow shows off the repaired play equipment
Parish Council Leader Pam Winlow said "The new swings are very sturdy and attractive and in place for the local children to use during the summer."
The work has taken longer than the Parish Council would have liked because of the time it takes going through the insurance company and suppliers to get the appropriate swings within the specified value.
"The Parish Council has, of course, had to pay the excess on the insurance, added Pam Winlow.
No help or effort was received from a particular Fylde Borough Councillor, (and county councillor candidate) who tried to claim the credit. Could this be the very same councillor who received a vote of no confidence from his own Parish meeting ?
