Desperation = loser

The Tories are so desperate for something to say that they have been going on about defections from the Liberal Democrats as though that was important. I'm sorry to disappoint them-it is not. Fylde Liberal Democrats have strict rules about elected representatives who want to switch to us. By contrast other parties clearly are less particular about welcoming those who, like a North West MEP featured in Tory campaigning, are prepared to betray those who elected them by switching not long after they were elected. Since our current election campaign started our local Liberal Democrat membership has increased as has our number of helpers. Every penny spent in Fylde has been raised from local people who are increasingly realising the the other parties have nothing important or useful to say about the issues that actually concern the electorate.
