Congratulations to our hard-working candidates, supporters and activists in the Brockhurst ward of Gosport. The Liberal Democrats held on to both seats.

The Conservatives will have been gutted by the result. Not only did they arrive at the count thinking they had won, but there was actually a swing to us from the Conservatives with us doubling our majority since the last local elections in the ward.

LD Rob Hylands 562 Siobhan Mitchell-Smith 523 (50.3; Increase of 2.8%)

Con 364 / 339 (32.6; Decrease of 7%)

Green 131 (11.7; +5.6)

Lab 60 / 56 (5.4; -1.4)

Majorities 198 / 159
