Voters are justifiably fed up to the back teeth with the present Government and the backlash is fully understandable. A Conservative administration has been voted into Lancashire County Council and they are way ahead in the opinion polls. But when you look at their record in office we should please be careful who we vote for. Locally (15th July) Cllr. Roger Small, (Kilnhouse), Deputy Leader of Conservative controlled Fylde Council successfully moved an amendment to retain North Beach Car Park on the list of council assets for disposal in spite of a Scrutiny Committee recommendation that it should be removed from the list. So we have Sand Yachting back & potentially no parking facility. Moreover, having closed St Annes Pool, and suffered the fallout, they now appear to be going round in circles. St. Anne's needs a facility to attract visitors. Does the Cabinet and the ruling Tory group really have the vision and the expertise to bring this about ? [See Howard Henshaw & Tony Ford blog]. Finally at the European Parliament David Cameron has marginalised his MEP's by pulling out of the mainstream Conservative grouping and aligned them with a group led by a Polish MEP who has enraged the Jewish community with his comments on WWII. Do we really want a Conservative Government in Westminster?
