Lancs County Hall In the first quarter of 2009/10, it has been reported to the LCC cabinet that stress/depression is the top reason for absence and is as high as 32% in the Office of the Chief Executive and 30% in the Children and Young Peoples Directorate. "These figures are significantly up from this time last year" said Professor Bill Winlow, County Councillor for Preston West, "and I have asked that they should be compared with figures from other similar authorities and those from the business sector. Stress and accompanying depression are often associated with excessively demanding workloads" he added
