Four members of Fylde Liberal Democrats spoke on the first day of what is to be an eight day Planning Inquiry into the building of 1,100 extra homes which will change the face and character of Lytham St. Anne's for ever. Other members of the public also added their objections. In all, 22 people spoke against the scheme. Those raising objections focussed on concerns about flooding, school provision, transport issues, loss of agricultural land and the negative impact that such a large development, 1,100 homes, would have on the nature and character of the area. The seven who spoke in favour understandably had business interests, hoping to sell more cars and kitchens to these potential new residents. We await the outcome with interest.
