Voting system changes needed
The Government's Democratic Reform Council met last week and they have decided to call a vote in the Commons on a legally binding clause that will provide for a referendum on the voting system. This is the first time the Commons will be able to vote on holding such a referendum in decades. Opponents of reform, especially in the unelected House of Lords, will do their best to kill the bill and stop voters from having their say.
The Liberal Democrats have long argued for reform of the electoral system and will continue to add their weight to a campaign to secures changes that improve our democratic system. We will continue to put pressure on other politicians who stand in the way of change. http://www.voteforachange.co.uk/
