Gurkhas - their rights and their treatment by the UK Government

Liberal Democrats support the Gurkha Campaign

On a recent visit to India a small man, on discovering I was English, said

with immense pride,

"My grandfather and father were in the British Army. I am a Gurkha".

I had to fight to stop myself bursting into tears at the truly shameful way "my" Government was treating these people. Thank goodness for the High Court, and the campaign waged by Liberal Democrats & others, which has ruled that former Gurkha soldiers can settle in the UK. It is no more than they deserve.
