Route and timetable improvements for the Northwest

Route and timetable improvements for the Northwest

Northern Rail is introducing 100 extra services every weekday as part of its new December timetable. There are changes to the Manchester - Blackpool North route which means an increase to two trains every hour between Manchester and Preston. Improvements are scheduled to the Manchester Airport services too.

Across the country Sunday services are being increased by 7.6% - let's hope that some of those extra trains find their way on to the South Fylde line - how can towns the size of St. Annes and Lytham be deprived of a regular Sunday service ?
