Wesham protest

County Councillor and Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Fylde, Bill Winlow, is appalled that green field sites are under attack from developers. "Fylde needs to retain its farmland for the benefit of the local community and local producers. Fylde Borough Council should stand up to the developers and say no to further loss of high quality land. The proposed development North of Mowbreck Lane at Wesham is a case in point and should be stopped, otherwise developers will be encouraged to target other Greenfield sites in the area. That would have a serious impact on our eco-system, wildlife and eventually on our ability to produce enough food to feed ourselves" said Bill. In opposing the scheme he continued: "Local people recognise that the proposed development is inappropriate or they would not turn out in such large numbers to protest about it. It's about time that Fylde Borough Council started to listen to local people and looked after their best interests. They should throw out the proposal at tomorrow's meeting of the Development Control Committee"
